Read a book that crosses two genres or more.
Most of us have favorite genres that we return to again and again when choosing books. Many stories, however, don’t fit neatly into one category or another but cross over into one or more genres. In June, we challenge you to read a genre crossover to explore a story that might be a little unconventional for you. Find recommendations by genre and age group below. Kids books are not often categorized by genre. For this challenge, use your judgement or ask library staff for help to find a book that meets the challenge. Books that have animal characters who talk and otherwise act like people can be classified as fantasy. You can also use these types of stories as a genre classification for this challenge: superheroes, humorous stories, action/adventure, fairy tales, folk tales, sports stories, and religious stories. Don’t worry about being too strict about classifications for this challenge. Just have fun finding a great book!
